Case studies

1. Lifesaving Mumbai – Lifesaving Mumbai is IRA’s first and highest performing training partner. They have partnered with REPS India and various fitness training institutes of National Skill Development Council (SPEFLSC) to deliver emergency response training to the fitness industry. Further they have also implemented training courses in Pool Lifeguard to streamline the industry

2. National Fisheries Development Board – NFDB is a part of the Ministry of Fisheries, Govt of India. In collaboration with the Indian Rescue Academy (IRA) and ALA, the pilot project to training fishermen as lifeguards was launched in Tamil Nadu and we have trained more than 1,500 fishermen as lifeguards in the past year funded by the Union ministry of Fisheries under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY). The programme has since expanded to include Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Odisha, Maharashtra, and Karnataka, all of which have high rates of drowning incidents. By 2026, an additional 8,500 fishermen in the country are expected to be trained
